Vietnam Classic Tour from Hanoi - 14 Days

Day 1  HANOI (D) - the first destination of Vietnam travel

  • When arriving, welcome at the hanoi200airport and transfer to your selected hotel.
  • Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside), his former residence, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and the Ancient Quarter.
  • Join to a water puppet show.
  • Dinner at local restaurant.
  • Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: HANOI / HALONG (L/D) (160km – 3h30)

  • In the morning, after breakfast, transfer to Halong Bay.
  • Arrive around 12h30 and take a junk for a memorable cruise through the mystical Halong Bay.
  • Be delighted with food on board and spend your day admiring one of the natural marvels of Vietnam.
  • Visit islets & natural caves
  • If the weather is nice, enjoy a swim in the cool blue water of the Gulf of Tonkin.

Day 3: HALONG / NINH BINH / TAM COC  (B/L) (190km – 4h30)

  • 7h30: Breakfast.
  • Discover Man’s Head Island, Tortoise Island, Luon cave, Bai Tu Long bay, Ton Island and Bai Tho Mountain.
  • 11h00: Enjoy an early lunch on board.
  • 12h00: End of the cruise, then drive to Ninh Binh.
  • On the way, stop for tasting the green been cake.
  • Arrive in the afternoon and check in hotel.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight in Tam Coc.

Day 4  TAM COC / HOALU / HANOI / LAOCAI   (B/L)

  • After breakfast, take a small sampan for a spectacular 2-hour cruise through numerous waterways, admiring a beautiful rural landscape of limestone cliffs and rice fields to the stunning Tam Coc caves.
  • Lunch in a local restaurant in Van Lam.
  • In the afternoon, visit Dinh and Le Dynastic temples before returning to Hanoi in the late afternoon to take the night train to Sapa (soft sleep with air-conditioner).
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight on train.

Day 5  LAOCAI / SAPA   (B/D)  (39km – 1h)sapa200

  • Arrival at Lao Cai railway station at about 6h30.
  • Transfer by coach to Sapa (45 min.).
  • When arriving, have breakfast at the hotel just after check-in.
  • The rest of the morning is at leisure to to explore on your own the town of Sapa and its colorful market.
  • Lunch in a local restaurant.
  • In the afternoon, visit Ta Van (Zay) village where you will enjoy a walk and discover the traditional lifestyle of these friendly people as well as the rural scenery of rice paddies, wooden bridges, and rivers, etc.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight in Sapa.

Day 6  SAPA / LAO CAI / HANOI (B/L)

  • After breakfast, trekking to the Cat Cat village for the discovery of  Black H'mong. Sapa is home of more than 30 minority tribes (Black H'mong, Flower H'mong, Red Dao) and of Vietnam’s highest peak: Mount Fansipan.
  • Lunch at local restaurant.
  • In the afternoon, departure at 8h00 from Lao Cai on the night train for Hanoi. (soft sleep with air-conditioner).
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight on train.

Day 7  HANOI (B)

  • Arrive in Hanoi in the early morning & transfer to the hotel.
  • Have breakfast with the rice noodle.
  • Free day to visit Hanoi on your own Hanoi.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 8  HANOI / DANANG / HOIAN   (B/L)hoian1.200

  • Transfer to the airport to take your morning flight to Danang.
  • When arriving, visit Marble Mountains and China Beach.
  • Continue to the riverside town of Hoi An, an important trading port during the 17th and 18th centuries officially listed as a World’s Heritage site.
  • Check in the hotel and have lunch at local restaurant before taking a walk around Hoi An ancient town and exploring its treasures: the Japanese Bridge, PhucKien Assembly Hall, PhungHung Old Merchant House.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 9  HOIAN / DANANG / HUE (B/L)

  • After breakfast, drive to Danang, visit the Cham Museum before transfering to Hue through the Hai Van Pass, admiring the picturesque fishing village of Lang Co.
  • Check in the hotel

  • In the afternoon, take a boat for a cruise on the gentle Huong River and visit Thien Mu pagoda on the riverbank and Emperor Minh Mang's tomb.

Day 10  HUE (B/L)

  • After breakfast, visit the Imperial Citadel and Emperor Khai Dinh’s mausoleum.
  • Enjoy a lunch in a local restaurant before visiting Dong Ba market and Diem Phung Thi exhibition of sculptures.

  • Overnight in Hue.

Day 11  HUE / SAIGON (B/L)

  • When arriving in Saigon, transfer to your selected hotel.
  • In the same morning, discover a busy Saigon: enjoy a tour in the Old Colonial Residential Quarter and visit the old Hotel de Ville, the Opera House, Notre-Dame Cathedral (built in the 19th century), the dazzling French-style post office and the Reunification Palace (outside).

  • In the afternoon, continue to Cho Lon and stop at Binh Tay Market.

Day 12  SAIGON / MY THO / BEN TRE / CAN THO  (B/L)

  • Morning departure from Ho Chi Minh City and drive to My Tho, located in the heart of the Mekong Delta.
  • When arriving in My Tho, take a boat for a cruise on the Mekong River and its multiple canals to Ben Tre.
  • Visit a coco candy factory where you can taste local specialties.
  • Take a 15-minute coach ride to visit a garden house to enjoy tea with honey and fresh tropical fruits.
  • Take a sampan through a water coconut forest before returning to the boat to come back to the restaurant for lunch with a chance to taste “tai tuong” fish, a special kind of fish having big ears.
  • In the afternoon, continue to Can Tho, the main town of the Mekong Delta.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight in Can Tho.

  • After breakfast, take a sampan to visit Cai Rang floating market and a family-run noodle-making factory.
  • Witness the rural life and the beautiful vegetation along the riverbanks.
  • Discover Can Tho’s market before driving back to Saigon.

  • Arrive in Saigon late in the afternoon.
